ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a fibre drum formed of a tubular shell forming a sidewall having its interior surface laminated with plastic. A top chime covers the upper edge of the sidewall. A top lid has a downwardly extending rib so that the upper edge of the top chime is sealingly engaged between the side surface and the rib of the top chime. The top lid has a bead that engages a recess in the side surface of the top chime. The bottom of the container has its bottom edge sealingly engaged between the side surface and circumferentially upwardly projecting rib of the bottom lid. The top and bottom lids and the top chime are made of plastic.
