Abstract Steel structure for support of deck with production facilities for oil and gas at larger water depths and proce- dure for assembly of the structure while it is floating in the sea. The structure consists of a vertical erected triangular trusswork tower 1 supported of a base 2 and reaching up to a level above the water surface where it supports a deck 3. The tower consists of three corner columns 6 interconnected by horizontal and diagonal trusswork stays. The tower is supported by three inclined supporting legs 4 which terminate in a base foundation. The supporting legs 4 are symmetrically arranged around the tower in such a way that each of them are facing a side plane of the triangular tower. The supporting legs are a trusswork construction of triangular cross-section. By installation of the structure the tower 1 is brought to be floating vertically in the sea, while the supporting legs 4 are floating in approximately horizontal position with the installation frames 5 mounted. The upper part of the supporting legs is connected to a temporary joint 20 of the tower and the legs are rotated down into final position in that the installation frames by means of a wire system 14 are pulled into a connection point for the frame on the tower.
