ABSTRACT Pre-insulated flag-type electrical connector comprises a flag-type electrical terminal and a housing which completely encloses the terminal. The terminal has a tubular crimping ferrule and a contact portion which extends laterally from the ferrule. The width of the contact portion is the same as that of the ferrule. The housing comprises a moulded part having a terminal-receiving portion and a laterally extending wire-receiving arm. An opening extends through the arm and communicates with a terminal-receiving cavity in the terminal-receiving portion. The ferrule has a wire-receiving end which is immediately adjacent to the inner end of the wire-receiving opening. The terminal-receiving portion is shaped so as partially to follow the configuration of the ferrule, the housing material being such that the terminal can be crimped to a wire through the housing material.
