A flame arrester and radiator combination includes a radiator body having a first face, a second face, and air passageways extending between the first face and the second face. Internal conduits define a flow path from an inlet to an outlet. A flame arrester is incorporated into the body. There is provided means for connecting the inlet and the outlet to a source of heated fluids, such that when the flame arrester is placed in proximity to a flame, combustion air passing through the air passageways of the body to the flame is preheated by heated fluids circulated along the flow path.
