A B S T R A C T A flame-resistant polymer composition useful as a gasket material, sound and heat insulating foamed board and the like, said polymer comprising an organic polymer and a flame retarding system for said polymer and for gaseous by-products of said polymer, said flame-retarding system comprising 20 to 120 parts by weight of an organo phosphate plasticizer, 1 to 15 parts by weight of antimony trioxide, 5 to 60 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide or hydrated alumina, 1 to 15 parts by weight of a borate, and 1 to 20 parts by weight of a brominated hydrocarbon, all per 100 parts by weight of said polymer.
