A flame retardant composition comprising coated particles, said particles having a core comprising melamine phosphate, melamine polyphosphate, melamine pyrophosphate, or mixtures thereof, said core having at least one coating comprising an organo silane, ester, polyol, dianhydride, dicarboxylic acid, melamine formaldehyde, or mixtures thereof; a polymer composition containing said flame retardant; a polymer composition containing a flame retardant comprising melamine phosphate, melamine polyphosphate, melamine pyrophosphate or mixtures thereof, and dicarboxylic acid, dianhydride, or mixtures thereof; and a process for preparation of said polymer compositions by increasing extruder throughput are disclosed.
L'invention décrit une composition ignifuge comprenant des particules enrobées qui possèdent un noyau composé de phosphate de mélamine, de polyphosphate de mélamine, de pyrophosphate de mélamine ou de mélanges desdits composants; ledit noyau possède au moins un enrobage qui comprend un organosilane, un ester, un polyalcool, un dianhydride, l'acide dicarboxylique, le formaldéhyde de mélamine ou des mélanges desdits composants; une composition polymère comprenant l'ignifugeant ci-mentionné; une composition polymère qui inclut un ignifugeant comprenant le phosphate de mélamine, le polyphosphate de mélamine, le pyrophosphate de mélamine ou des mélanges desdits composants, ainsi que l'acide dicarboxylique, un dianhydride ou leurs mélanges; en dernier lieu, l'invention décrit un procédé de préparation desdites compositions polymères par augmentation du débit de l'extrudeuse.
