8CL 2000 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved flame-retardant polycarbonate composition consists of an aromatic polycarbonate resin in admixture with an organic alkali metal salt or an organic alkaline earth metal salt and at least one other organic alkali metal salt or organic alkaline earth metal salt, such that the metal salt mixture contains metal salt having the same organic moiety with at least two different cationic components. The improved flame-retardant compositions are useful in providing safer products for consumer use.
