ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flame retardant polycarbonate composition comprising in admixture an aromatic carbonate polymer and a flame retardant additive which may be the metal salts of sulfonic acids of monomeric and polymeric aromatic carboxylic acids and esters, and mixtures thereof. Thermoplastic articles conforming to the requirements of UL 94 Burning Test grade SE-O can be prepare from preferred compositions.
