ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thermoplastic flame retardant polycarbonate molding composition comprising in admixture an aromatic carbonate polymer and an additive which may be the metal salts of sulfonic acids of aromatic sulfides. Non-opaque formulations result when aromatic carbonate polymer and additive have a refractive index in the range of 1.54 to 1.65. Molded articles meeting the standard UL-94 grade SE-0 can be prepared according to preferred embodiments.
