IMPROVED FLAME RETARDANT POLYCARBONATE COMPOSITIONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Improved flame retardant polycarbonate compositions exhibiting optical transparency and good impact strength, particularly good thick section impact strength, comprised of, in admixture: (i) at least one halogen- free carbonate polymer derived from (a) at least one polycyclic, halogen-free and sulfur-free dihydric phenol; (b) a minor amount of at least one halogen-free thiodiphenol; and (ii) a minor amount of at least one organic metal salt of sulfonic acid selected from the organic alkali and alkaline earth metal salts of sulfonic acids.
