A flame-retardant resin composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin, 50 to 300 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide and/or magnesium hydroxide, and 0.1 to 100 parts by weight of a block copolymer made up of at least one polymer block comprising 50 to 100 mol% olefin monomer units and at least one polymer block comprising 0.1 to 100 mol% vinyl monomer units having at least one functional group selected among carboxyl, epoxy, hydroxy, and carboxylic anhydride groups and groups represented by general formula -Si-R1(R2)(R3) (wherein R1, R2, and R3 each represents halogeno, vinyl, alkyl, or alkoxy). The composition is excellent in all of melt moldability, flame retardancy, and mechanical properties. A flame-retardant material obtained by melt-molding the flame-retardant resin composition is suitable for use in various applications where flame retardancy is required, such as covering materials for electric wires, electrical insulating materials, building gaskets, building partitioning materials, flooring materials, wall materials, and automotive parts.
Une composition de résine ignifuge comprend 100 parties en poids d'une résine polyoléfinique, 50 à 300 parties en poids d'hydroxyde d'aluminium et/ou d'hydroxyde de magnésium, et 0,1 à 100 parties en poids d'un copolymère séquencé composé d'au moins un bloc polymère comprenant 50 à 100 % mol d'unités monomères oléfiniques et au moins un bloc polymère comprenant 0,1 à 100 % mol d'unités monomères vinyliques ayant au moins un groupe fonctionnel choisi parmi des groupes carboxyles, époxy, hydroxy et carboxyliques et des groupes représentés par la formule générale -Si-R?1¿(R?2¿)(R?3¿) (dans laquelle R?1¿, R?2¿ et R?3¿ représentent chacun halogéno, vinyl, alkyle ou alcoxy). La composition est excellente dans toutes ces propriétés d'aptitude au moulage à chaud, ignifugeantes et mécaniques. Une matière ignifuge obtenue par moulage à chaud de la composition de résine ignifuge convient à une utilisation dans diverses applications dans lesquelles une ininflammabitlié est recherchée, telles que dans des matériaux de revêtement pour câbles électriques, des matériaux électro-isolants, des joints d'étanchéité de construction, des matériaux de cloisonnement de construction, des matériaux de planchéiage, des matériaux muraux et des pièces d'automobile
