ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Liquid flame-retardants for polyurethane com- positions are disclosed. The liquid flame-retardants contain a mixture of a bromohydrin of pentaerythritol, a polyhydric alcohol, and a sufficient amount of a flame- -retardant organo-phosphorous compound to render the mix- ture a substantially solids-free liquid at 25°C, one atmosphere pressure. Illustrative of these flame-retar- dants is a solution of 2,2-bis(bromomethyl)-1,3-propane- diol, a cyclic phosphonate ester of the formula Image , where x = 0 or 1, and a poly(oxypropylene) adduct of glycerol having an average molecular weight of about 300.
