ABSTRACT Paper made from a blend of synthetic polymer fibers and cellulosic fibers can be made flameproof by incorporating into the polymer a conventional flame retardant system consisting of organically-bonded chlorine or bromine and a synergist, such as antimony oxide, and, in addition, by applying to the paper a sizing containing the same or a different synergist.
