This invention relates to a flammable fluid fuelled heater providing a flueless option with the provision of a catalytic converter in a secondary combustion chamber. Additionally, the heater is provided so as to give a substantially yellow flame typical of a traditional log fireplace and an open front to the heater. To control emissions, a catalytic converter is provided on the exhaust and the open front is sized to minimize spillage out of the open front of the unit. Additionally, a heat collector is provided over the primary combustion chamber to collect heat and direct this towards the secondary combustion chamber to provide a sufficient environment for operation of the catalytic converter.
Cette invention a trait à un appareil de chauffage brûlant un liquide inflammable, pouvant être utilisé sous une forme non raccordée, grâce à la présence d'un convertisseur catalytique dans une chambre de combustion secondaire. L'appareil de chauffage est en outre adapté pour produire une flamme essentiellement jaune, caractéristique d'un foyer dans lequel sont brûlés des rondins et dont la partie frontale est ouverte. Pour empêcher les émissions, un convertisseur catalytique est prévu à la sortie d'échappement, et la façade ouverte est dimensionnée de façon à limiter la dispersion des émissions. De plus, un collecteur de chaleur est prévu au-dessus de la chambre de combustion primaire, pour capter la chaleur et la diriger vers la chambre de combustion secondaire, de façon à y produire un environnement favorable au bon fonctionnement du convertisseur catalytique.
