ABSTRACT There are provided novel flange assemblies comprising an open rectangular base member; at least one first flange member extending around at least a part of the periphery of said base member and extending outwardly from said base member at an angle of 135°; a second flange member extending along the outer edge of each said first flange member, said second member extending outwardly from said first member at an angle of 135°; and means for adapting said base member to be attached to the periphery of a rectangular structural unit whereby to form a rectangular structural unit having a double flange around at least part of the periphery thereof. In addition there are provided structures derived from use of these flange assemblies.
