A device is adapted to form a flanged ring including an elongated curved extension from an elongated straight flange with an elongated base and an elongated protrusion extending from the elongated base. The device comprises a first pair of opposed surfaces adapted to compress an elongated protrusion of a flange to increase a length of the elongated protrusion. The device further includes a second pair of opposed surfaces adapted to compress an elongated base of a flange to increase the length of one portion of the elongated base relative to another portion of the elongated base. The axis of rotation of the first pair of opposed surfaces and the axis of rotation of the second pair of opposed surfaces are disposed perpendicular to each other. A flanged ring is also provided that is formed by process comprising the steps of providing a device including a first pair of opposed surfaces and a second pair of opposed surfaces. Still further a method of making a flanged ring includes the step of feeding the elongated straight flange with respect to the device such that a first pair of opposed surfaces compress an elongated protrusion to increase the length of the elongated protrusion and a second pair of opposed surfaces compress an elongated base to increase the length of one portion of the elongated base relative to another portion of the elongated base, wherein the first pair of opposed surfaces and the second pair of opposed surfaces are rotated on axes of rotation that are perpendicular to each other.
Dispositif adapté pour former une bague épaulée qui comporte un prolongement courbe de forme allongé d'un épaulement allongé rectiligne, avec une base allongée et une protubérance sortant de la base allongée. Le dispositif comprend une première paire de surfaces opposées adaptées de façon à comprimer la protubérance allongée d'un épaulement afin d'augmenter la longueur de ladite protubérance. Le dispositif comprend également une seconde paire de surfaces opposées adaptées de façon à comprimer la base allongée d'un épaulement afin d'augmenter la longueur d'une partie de la base allongée par rapport à l'autre partie de ladite base. L'axe de rotation de la première paire de surfaces opposées est perpendiculaire à l'axe de rotation de la seconde paire de surfaces opposées. Une bague épaulée est également prévue et est formée par le procédé consistant en les étapes suivantes : fourniture d'un dispositif comprenant une première paire et une seconde paire de surfaces opposées. De plus, une méthode de fabrication de la bague épaulée comprend l'opération consistant à alimenter l'épaulement allongé rectiligne par rapport au dispositif de telle sorte que la première paire de surfaces opposées comprime une protubérance allongée afin d'augmenter la longueur de ladite protubérance, ainsi qu'une seconde paire de surfaces opposées comprimant une base allongée afin d'augmenter la longueur d'une partie de la base allongée par rapport à l'autre partie de ladite base; la première paire de surfaces opposées et la seconde paire de surfaces opposées pivotent sur des axes de rotation qui sont perpendiculaires l'un par rapport à l'autre.
