Methods are disclosed for pyrolizing carbonaceous materials to carbonaceous materials having lower boiling points by heating the carbonaceous material to a desired reaction temperature and holding the carbonaceous material in contact with the heat for a sufficient time to achieve the desired reaction to a lower boiling point carbonaceous materials, then rapidly cooling the desired reaction products. The heating source is a jet which will provide hot and high velocity gas streams to the carbonaceous material to be heated.

Cette invention concerne des procédés permettant de pyrolyser des matériaux carbonés afin d'obtenir des matériaux carbonés présentant des points d'ébullition plus bas. Le procédé décrit dans cette invention consiste à chauffer le matériau carboné à une température de réaction souhaitée puis à maintenir ce matériau carboné en contact avec la chaleur pendant un laps de temps suffisant pour obtenir une réaction souhaitée jusqu'à obtention de matériaux carbonés à point d'ébullition plus bas, puis à refroidir rapidement les produits de la réaction souhaitée. La source de chaleur est un jet qui applique des flux de gaz chauds et à grande vitesse au matériau carboné devant être chauffé.
