An air infiltration blocking skirt comprising a weather resistant sheet material is attached to the lower portion of a window to be installed in a wall opening the full width of the opening and sufficiently long to extend over the wall immediately below the window. The skirt is sealed to the wall along both the left and right sides of the skirt while the bottom edge remains unsealed. The skirt prevents wind-driven rain and air from penetrating the window-wall interface while allowing moisture to drain therethrough.

L'invention porte sur une collerette bloquant l'infiltration de l'air et comprenant un matériau en feuilles résistant aux intempéries qui est fixé à la partie inférieure d'une fenêtre destinée à être installée dans l'ouverture d'un mur, la largeur totale de l'ouverture étant suffisamment longue de façon à s'étendre sur le mur, juste sous la fenêtre. La collerette est scellée hermétiquement contre le mur par ses côtés droit et gauche, alors que son bord inférieur reste libre. La collerette empêche la pluie entraînée par le vent et l'air de pénétrer dans l'interface fenêtre-mur et à l'humidité de se propager dans cette interface.
