The present invention is related to a flashlight holder for protective helmets, hardhats or the like, which may be attached to the helmet by means of standard adaptors or by means of a specially designed separate adaptors. The holder comprises a carrier element adapted to accommodate within its inner walls a standard flashlight, an adjustment means connected to the carrier element and provided to adjust the carrier holding the flashlight in the position required by the protective helmet wearer and a mounting adaptor means connected to the carrier element by the adjustment means and provided to releasably attach the holder to the protective helmet. The holder is attached to the side of the helmet and is made of a non-conductive material. In the preferred embodiment the adjustment means are located at the lower extremity of the carrier and comprises a swivel ball-socket arrangement.
