A flat bed cart (2) includes a molded resin load carrying bed (6) having longitudinally spaced ends (9, 10), a generally planar upper side (14) and a bottom side (61) that includes a plurality of ribs (64), a pair of spaced, longitudinally extending slots (70,71) and first, second and third sets (84,85) of integrally molded fastener mounted pads that are located adjacent the first and second endsof the bed and intermediate the ends respectively. The slots receive a pair of longitudinally extending reinforcing bars (74,75) that carry at their ends upright handle receiving mounts (21). The handle receiving mounts are arranged in recesses (18) spaced about the periphery of the bed at the first and second endsthereof. At least one handle (28) is provided which is adapted to be selectivelypositioned within a respective pair of the upstanding handle receiving mounts.The cart also includes first and second swiveling caster wheel assemblies (44)mounted to the underside of the bed at each end thereof through a pair of support blocks (41,42) that extend laterally across the bed and a pair of centrally mounted enlarged wheels (53) about which the cart can be pivoted for maneuveringpurposes.

Les fentes reçoivent une paire de barres de renforcement (74, 75) s'étendant longitudinalement qui portent à leurs extrémités des supports (21) pour loger des poignées verticales. Ces supports sont disposés dans des évidements (18) espacés sur la périphérie de la plate-forme aux première et seconde extrémités de celui-ci. Au moins une poignée (28) est prévue, laquelle est adaptée pour être placée sélectivement dans une paire respective de supports de logement de poignées. Le chariot comporte également un premier et un second ensemble à roulettes pivotant (44) fixé sur la face inférieure de la plate-forme à chacune de ses extrémités par l'intermédiaire d'une paire de blocs de support (41, 42) s'étendant latéralement par rapport au châssis, et une paire de grandes roulettes (53) montées au centre, autour desquelles le chariot pivote pour les manoeuvres.
