There is provided a laminate material having stretchability and recovery, breathability and barrier properties, and being made from a nonwoven elastomeric web having at least one web of textile material discontinuously adhesively bonded to each side thereof. The laminate material is free of an elastomeric film, the elastomeric web is substantially flat when the laminate is unstretched, and the nonwoven elastomeric web provides recovery to the laminate. The nonwoven elastomeric web is preferably a web of meltblown elastomeric fibers and the other webs may be knits, wovens or scrim materials. These laminates are well suited for infection control products, personal care products and garments.

Cette invention se rapporte à un matériau stratifié ayant des propriétés d'aptitude à l'étirage et de recouvrance, de respirabilité et de barrière et qui est fabriqué à partir d'une bande élastomère non tissée, sur chaque côté de laquelle est collée par un moyen adhésif discontinu au moins une bande d'un matériau textile. Ce matériau stratifié ne comporte pas de film élastomère, la bande élastomère est essentiellement plate lorsque le stratifié n'est pas étiré, et la bande élastomère non tissée assure la recouvrance au stratifié. La bande élastomère non tissée est de préférence une bande de fibres élastomères obtenue par fusion-soufflage et les autres bandes peuvent être des étoffes à mailles, des tissés ou des gazes. Ces stratifiés sont particulièrement appropriés pour des produits contre les infections, pour des produits de soins personnels et pour les vêtements.
