ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A storage unit is provided, which is particularly adapted for use as a flat file, comprising a fiberboard housing (12) having a plurality of particle board shelf- supporting panels (32) with recesses (34) that support fiberboard drawer shelves (16) encased at their forward edges by a rigid casing (18), and further including a rigid peripheral frame (20) for the open end (G) of the housing (12), and a plurality of drawers (14) preferably having large horizontal dimensions relative to their respective heights.
