The invention relates to a flat light emitter with dielectrically impeded strip-like cathodes (12; 15) and anodes (8; 9a) which are alternately arranged on the wall of the discharge vessel (14). The inventive device has an additional anode (9b) between each adjacent cathode (12; 12, 15), i.e. a pair of anodes (9) is respectively arranged between said cathodes (12; 12, 15). The cathodes (15) have nose-shaped extensions (28) facing each adjacent anode (8). Said extensions are more densely arranged as they advance towards the edges (26, 27) of the light emitter (13). Alternately or additionally, both anode strips (9a; 9b) of each anode pair (9) are wider on one side in the direction of each partner strip (9b or 9b) as they advance towards the edges (26, 27) of the light emitter (13). Such a design enables the surface luminance of the flat light emitter (13) to remain substantially constant even at the edges (26, 27, 29, 30).
L'invention concerne un spot plat possédant des électrodes à inhibition diélectrique, à savoir des cathodes (12, 15) et des anodes (8; 9a) qui se présentent sous forme de bandes et sont alternées sur la paroi de l'enceinte à décharge (14). Ce spot plat présente entre les cathodes (12; 12, 15) voisines respectivement une anode (9b) supplémentaire, c'est-à-dire qu'une paire d'anodes (9) est respectivement placée entre les cathodes (12; 12, 15). Les cathodes (15) possèdent des protubérances (28) en forme de lobes, qui font face respectivement aux anodes (8) voisines. Ces protubérances sont de plus en plus rapprochées vers les bords (26, 27) du spot plat. En variante ou de façon complémentaire, les deux bandes anodes (9a; 9b) de chaque paire d'anodes sont élargies d'un côté, celui faisant face à la bande correspondante (9b ou 9b). Grâce à ces mesures, la luminance surfacique du spot plat (13) est largement constante jusqu'aux bords (26, 27, 29, 30).
