A B S T R A C T The invention is used to produce a fleece made of pourable material, such as wood shavings, chips or the like, for producing chipboards or fiber- boards and includes a pouring station for dispensing the pourable material, a transport belt for receiving the material, a thickness measuring means for de- termining the thickness of the fleece being formed on the transport belt, and a scale for measuring the fleece weight per unit surface area. The output signals obtained from the thickness measuring means and/or from the scale are used to control the pouring station and thus the quantity of material dispensed onto the transport belt.
