ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device is provided for protecting a structure, e.g., formed by a motor vehicle, against the impact of projectiles and explosion fragments or splinters. The device is of the type having a lamin- ated structure based on elastomer and fibers, the laminated struc- ture having at least one flexible module formed of a plurality of superimposed composite layers, each composite layer including an intermediate textile layer made from such fibers and adhered on each side to a film of very small thickness made from such elas- tomer. The different composite layers are bonded together by vul- canization and their number depends on the desired degree of flexibility for the module. The module is adapted to be secured to any support formed by such structure to be protected.
