The invention relates to a ballistic-resistant assembly comprising a stack of a plurality of flexible elements comprising at least one layer containing a network of high-strength fibres, wherein from 5 to 50 mass% of the elements in the rear side part of the assembly contain connecting means that interconnect adjacent elements at multiple spots distributed over their surface. The flexible assembly combines high bullet stopping power with a low trauma effect. The invention further relates to a ballistic-resistant article comprising said assembly and to a method of making said assembly.

La présente invention a trait à un ensemble souple à résistance balistique comportant une superposition d'une pluralité d'éléments flexibles comprenant au moins une couche contenant un réseau de fibres haute tenue, dans lequel entre 5 et 50 % en poids des éléments dans la partie arrière de l'ensemble contiennent des moyens de liaison qui lient entre eux les éléments adjacents en plusieurs endroits répartis à leur surface. L'ensemble souple allie une grande capacité pour stopper les balles à un faible effet traumatisant. L'invention a également trait à un article à résistance balistique comportant ledit ensemble et à un procédé de fabrication dudit ensemble.
