TITLE FLEXIBLE COMPOSITE ULTRACENTRIFUGE ROTOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ultracentrifuge rotor is characterized by a hub having radially outwardly extending curved spokes. The outer ends of the spokes are received in a groove defined on the inner peripheral surface of an annular rim. Sample carriers are affixed to the rim at circumferentially spaced locations defined between adjacent pairs of spokes. As the rotor rotates the disparity in physical properties between the hub and the rim as well as the flattening of the curvature of the spokes causes the hub to grow to an extent at least equal to that of the growth of the rim.
