ABSTRACT The flexible coupling includes outer and inner members drivingly connected in a rotational sense through opposed pairs of flats separated by laminated elastomer-inelastic material bonded to the flats. Four inner flats are squarely arranged and are cylindrically curved along their lengths about orthogonal axes of curvature intersecting at the axis of rotation of the inner member, and are flat across their widths. Four opposed outer flats, parallel to the inner flats, are flat across their lenghts and widths and extend alongside the axis of rotation of the outer member. Inner layers of laminated material extend parallel to the inner flats and the outer layers of laminated material, bonded to the inner layers, extend parallel to the outer flats. A trunion support is dis- closed in an alternate embodiment to prevent relative axial motion between inner and outer members.
