A flexible coupling device to connect two substantially axially aligned shafts comprises coupling members mountable on the ends of each of the shafts. Each coupling member has a drive face for engagement with the opposed drive face of the other coupling member to provide a torque transmitting connection. Each coupling member is formed with a tubular flange extending away from the drive face having a constant inside diameter engageable with the shaft and a tapered outside surface tapering convergently as the flange extends away from the drive face. There is a ring member associated with each coupling member that has a tapered inner bore engageable over the tapered outside surface of the tubular flange. The ring member is connectable to the coupling member to draw the ring member and the coupling member together to compress the tubular flange to urge the flange to grip the shaft.
Dispositif d'accouplement souple servant à relier deux arbres alignés suivant à peu près la direction de leur axe et comportant des éléments d'accouplement pouvant être ajoutés aux extrémités de chacun de ces arbres. Chaque élément d'accouplement présente un côté menant conçu pour pouvoir s'engager avec le côté menant lui faisant face sur l'autre élément d'accouplement et établir un raccord de transmission de couple. Il comporte également une bride tubulaire prenant naissance du côté menant, de diamètre intérieur constant, conçue pour s'engager avec l'arbre et dont la surface conique extérieure décroît de manière convergente au fur et à mesure que la bride s'éloigne du côté menant. Un élément annulaire associé à chaque élément d'accouplement présente un alésage interne conique pouvant s'engager avec la surface conique extérieure de la bride tubulaire. Cet élément annulaire peut être relié à l'élément d'accouplement pour exercer une force de traction sur l'élément annulaire et l'élément d'accouplement de manière à comprimer la bride tubulaire et de la contraindre ainsi à saisir l'arbre.
