A flexible dasher board assembly and system that utilises four different aspects for providing shock absorbing features. In a first aspect, the entire dasher board assembly (12) is provided with rotational flexibility such that the entire assembly will pivot about a point substantially near the bottom of the dasher board and close to the ice. In a second aspect, the entire dasher board system is provided with translational flexibility, such that the entire dasher board assembly can be pushed substantially parallel and away from the ice. In a third aspect, only the shielding panel (204) is provided with rotational flexibility such that the shielding panel (204) (and its support struts (202) in a supported assembly) will pivot about a point within the dasher board. In a fourth aspect, only the shielding panel (204) is provided with translational flexibility such that only the shielding panel (and its support struts) can be pushed substantially parallel and away from the ice.
L'invention concerne un ensemble et un système de panneaux de protection souples comprenant quatre configurations différentes pour absorber les chocs. Dans une première configuration, la totalité de l'ensemble des panneaux de protection (12) possède la souplesse de rotation qui lui permet de pivoter autour d'un point situé sensiblement à proximité du fond du panneau de protection et près de la glace. Dans une deuxième configuration, la totalité de l'ensemble des panneaux de protection a la souplesse de déplacement et peut être poussée de manière sensiblement parallèle à la glace et en dehors de celle-ci. Dans une troisième configuration, seul le panneau écran (204) a la souplesse de rotation, de manière à ce que ledit panneau écran (204) ainsi que ses pièces comprimées (202) faisant partie de l'ensemble soutenu puissent pivoter autour d'un point situé dans le panneau de protection. Dans une quatrième configuration, seul le panneau écran (204) possède la souplesse de déplacement. Seul ce panneau écran et ses pièces comprimées peuvent être poussés de manière sensiblement parallèle à la glace et en dehors de celle-ci.
