A flexible display device (10) is disclosed. The flexible display device comprises a flexible substrate (12), a number of display pixels (14) arranged in a form of rows and columns on the surface of the substrate, a number of grooves (16) in the surface of the substrate each of which is formed in between adjacent two rows or columns of the display pixels (14), and connection lines (18) for electrically interconnecting the plurality of display pixels (14), thereby providing flexibility to the display device and, at the same time, minimizing the propagation of mechanical stress caused when the display device is bent or rolled. A method of manufacturing the display device is also disclosed.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage flexible (10) comprenant un substrat flexible (12), un certain nombre de pixels d'affichage (14) disposé sous forme de rangées et de colonnes à la surface dudit substrat, un certain nombre de rainures (16) au niveau de cette même surface, chacune de celles-ci étant formée entre deux rangées ou colonnes adjacentes de pixels d'affichage (14), et des lignes de connexion (18) permettant d'interconnecter électriquement la pluralité des pixels d'affichage (14). On peut ainsi obtenir une certaine flexibilité du dispositif d'affichage et, à la fois, minimiser la propagation de la contrainte mécanique provoquée, lorsque ledit dispositif d'affichage est courbé ou enroulé. Cette invention concerne aussi un procédé de fabrication dudit dispositif d'affichage.
