A flexible fibrous material comprises inorganic fibers and a binder and methods of making the same. The binder comprises at least one of: a first organic polymer having anionic groups and a flocculent, the flocculent comprising a second organic polymer having cationic groups; or a reaction product of the first organic polymer and the flocculent. Flexible fibrous material according to the present invention may be used as components in certain pollution control devices.

L'invention concerne un matériau fibreux souple comprenant des fibres inorganiques et un liant, et ses procédés de fabrication. Le liant comprend au moins un élément parmi : un premier polymère organique ayant des groupes anioniques et un floculant, le floculant comprenant un second polymère organique ayant des groupes cationiques ; ou un produit réactionnel du premier polymère organique et du floculant. Un matériau fibreux souple selon la présente invention peut être utilisé en tant que composants dans certains dispositifs de contrôle de pollution.
