A flexible container (10) is provided for the storage, and administration of medical solutions. The container incorporates a transparent front sheet (12) made from a planar layer of a polymer, and an opposing rear sheet (14). The rear sheet is made from a planar laminate layer. The front, and rear sheets are sealed together along a common peripheral edge (16) to form a volume enclosure (17). The volume enclosure is constructed of materials having high oxygen, and moisture barrier properties which allows the container thermoplastic to be stored for extended periods of time without degrading the contents. The volume enclosure is then inflated with a pressurized gas to permanently stretch the front, and the rear sheets outwardly, and to thereby increase the volume capacity of the container. An alternative embodiment of the container incorporates multiple compartments (22, 23, 24) separated by peeled seals (25, 26) for containing a diluent, and a medicament. The seals are ruptured by manipulations of the container to thereby mix the contents together for delivery through standard IV an-arrangement to a patient.
L'invention concerne un récipient souple (10) servant à stocker et à administrer des solutions médicales. Le récipient comporte une feuille avant transparente (12) faite à partir d'une couche plane de polymère et une feuille arrière (14) qui lui est opposée. La feuille arrière est constituée d'une couche laminée plane. Les feuilles avant et arrière sont soudées ensemble le long d'un bord périphérique commun (16) pour former une envelopper fermée (17), ladite enveloppe étant faite avec des matériaux possédant des propriétés barrière élevées par rapport à l'humidité et à l'oxygène, ce qui permet de stocker les récipients thermoplastiques pendant de longues périodes sans courir le risque de dégradation du contenu. L'enveloppe est ensuite gonflée avec un gaz sous pression afin que les feuilles avant et arrière soient tirées en permanence vers l'extérieur, et ce pour augmenter la capacité volumique du récipient. Dans un mode de réalisation différent, le récipient contient plusieurs compartiments (22, 23, 24) séparés par des joints pelés (25, 26) et destinés à accueillir un diluant et un médicament. On manipule le récipient pour casser les joints pelés et mélanger ainsi son contenu, qui sera administré au patient au moyen d'un dispositif intraveineux standard.
