A B S T R A C T This invention relates to a process for producing polyurethane foam having improved load bearing properties. The process comprises reacting in one step a polyether and a crosslinking agent with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent. At least a portion of the crosslinking agent is a soluble amine salt obtained by reacting a polyamine having at least two primary groups with a carboxylic acid. Applications of this invention are in the manufacture of cushioning for furniture and automotive industries.
