A flexible automated apparatus for isolating and purifying viruses, proteins and peptides of interest from a plant material is disclosed, the apparatus being applicable for large scale purification and isolation of such substances from plant material. The flexible automated apparatus provides an efficient apparatus for isolating viruses, proteins and peptides of interest with little waste material. The automated apparatus for isolating viruses, proteins and peptides of interest includes a grinding apparatus (22) for homogenizing a plant to produce a green juice, a means for adjusting the pH of and heating the green juice, a means for separating the target species, either virus or protein/peptide, from other components of the green juice by one or more cycles of centrifugation, resuspension, and ultrafiltration, and finally purifying virus particles by such procedure as PEG-precipitation or purifying proteins and peptides by such procedures as chromatography and/or salt precipitation.
L'invention concerne un appareil automatisé flexible permettant d'isoler et de purifier des virus, des protéines et des peptides d'intérêt à partir d'un matériau végétal, cet appareil pouvant être utilisé pour purifier et isoler ces substances à grande échelle, à partir d'un matériau végétal. L'appareil automatisé flexible selon l'invention est efficace dans l'isolation de virus, de protéines et de peptides d'intérêt, et il produit peu de déchets. Cet appareil comprend un dispositif de broyage (22) servant à homogénéiser une plante pour obtenir un jus vert; un moyen servant à réguler le pH de ce jus vert et à chauffer ce dernier; un moyen servant à séparer les espèces cibles, un virus ou une protéine/peptide, des autres composantes du jus vert, par au moins un cycle de centrifugation, remise en suspension et ultrafiltration, puis à purifier les particules de virus au moyen de procédés tels que la précipitation au PEG, ou à purifier les protéines et les peptides au moyen de procédés tels que la chromatographie et/ou la précipitation des sels.
