A flexible, reconfigurable processing system architecture allows for the implementation of a variety of processing system preferably a PCI bus add-in extension board (100) with an attached daughter card (D) attached and electrically connected thereto through a PCI Mezzanine type connector (36), and which is plugged into a personal computer PCI expansion slot. The architecture uses the PCI bus (26) which allows PCI devices to be hidden from the host CPU to allow for proper system startup.

Cette architecture souple, reconfigurable, d'un système de traitement permet d'implémenter divers systèmes de traitement sur un dispositif, de préférence une carte d'extension (100) de bus de commande d'interface de périphérique (PCI) comprenant une carte fille (D) qui lui est attachée et reliée de manière électrique par l'intermédiaire d'un connecteur (36) de type mezzanine PCI, la carte d'extension étant enfichée dans un connecteur d'extension PCI d'un ordinateur personnel. Cette architecture met en oeuvre le bus PCI (26), permettant ainsi aux dispositifs PCI d'être cachés par rapport à l'unité centrale de traitement hôte, ce qui autorise un démarrage approprié du système.
