A method and apparatus is disclosed for receiving a wireless radio frequency signal which employs a first protocol and converting at least one part of said wireless signal to a signal employing a second protocol and transmitting unit (21, 41). The transmitting unit (21, 41) may or not be wireless. The apparatus comprises a plurality of wireless RF receiving units (22), a plurality of down converters (26), a plurality of transmitting units (21, 41), a plurality of up converters (27), a protocol converter (32) and a switching units (29, 34).
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de recevoir un signal de radiofréquence sans fil utilisant un premier protocole, convertir au moins une partie de ce signal sans fil en signal utilisant un second protocole et transmettre le signal converti à une unité de transmission (21, 41). Ladite unité de transmission (21, 41) peut être sans fil, mais pas nécessairement. L'appareil selon l'invention comprend une pluralité d'unités de réception RF sans fil (22), une pluralité de convertisseurs abaisseurs (26), une pluralité d'unités de transmission (21, 41) une pluralité de convertisseurs élévateurs (27), un convertisseur de protocole (32) et deux unités de commutation (29, 34).
