The present invention relates to menstrual absorbent articles, such as female sanitary napkins which are designed to be worn in and attached to a thong slips or G-string undergarment. In general absorbent articles for wearing with and attached to an undergarment should be designed to follow the shape of the undergarment where they are attached. For a thong slip this results in a sanitary napkin or panty liner having a wider front end and a narrower rear end. This design can also be described as triangular shape or trapezoidal shape. According to the present invention such thong shaped menstrual absorbent articles are provided in a construction in which the kind and amount of material, in particular for the absorbent core, and construction of the article, is selected such that the flexure resistance of the article remains below a critical value. In conjunction with the intimate wearing conditions achieved by the use of a thong slip this results in fitting of the sanitary napkin of the present invention in a very close proxinity to the wearer body contour providing for 'absorption at source' and little, if any space for liquid to escape. Articles constructed according to the present invention will display an absorbent and leakage performance in use, which surpasses even articles with a substantially higher amount of absorbent material.
L'invention concerne un article d'absorption de menstrues, tel qu'une serviette hygiénique, conçu pour être porté avec un sous-vêtement du type string ou g-string et fixé à celui-ci. En général, les articles absorbants destinés à être portés avec un sous vêtement et fixés à celui-ci devraient être conçus de manière à suivre la forme dudit sous-vêtement auquel ils sont fixés. Dans le cas d'un string, la serviette hygiénique ou le protège-slip possède une extrémité avant plus large, et une extrémité arrière plus étroite, ou peut être de forme triangulaire ou trapézoïdale. Selon l'invention, l'article absorbant en forme de lanière présente une construction dans laquelle le type et la quantité de matériau d'absorption de menstrues en forme de lanière, en particulier pour la partie centrale absorbante et la construction de l'article, est sélectionné de sorte que la résistance de l'article en flexion reste en dessous d'une valeur critique. Du fait des conditions d'utilisation intimes d'un string, la serviette hygiénique de l'invention se porte à proximité immédiate du contour du corps de la femme, ce qui permet une absorption à la source, et laisse peu d'espace, le cas échéant, pour une fuite de liquide. Les articles construits conformément à cette invention présentent une performance d'absorption et de fuite, lorsqu'on les utilise, qui surpasse même celle des articles possédant une quantité de matériau absorbant sensiblement plus élevée.
