A flexible mounting base to hold a sensor at an infusion site, the sensor being a removable in vivo sensor for monitoring analyte concentration level in a patient, such as blood glucose (BG) level. The mounting base comprises a flexible adhesive that anchors the flexible sensor set at an infusion site to provide stability for the sensor set in a convenient and comfortable manner. Placement of the mounting base onto the patient's skin causes the insertion needle to pierce the skin for transcutaneous placement of the cannula with the sensor therein. The insertion needle can then be withdrawn to leave the cannula and sensor at the selected insertion position, with the distal segment of the sensor being exposed to patient extracellular fluid via apertures formed in the cannula.

L'invention concerne une base de montage flexible permettant de maintenir un capteur sur un site d'infusion, le capteur se trouvant amovible in vivo afin de surveiller le taux de concentration d'analytes chez un patient, tel que la glycémie. La base de montage comprend un adhésif flexible qui fixe l'ensemble capteur flexible sur un site d'infusion afin d'apporter une stabilité à l'ensemble capteur de façon appropriée et confortable. Le placement de la base de montage sur la peau du patient entraîne le percement de cette dernière par l'aiguille d'insertion afin de permettre le placement transcutané de la canule comprenant le capteur. L'aiguille d'insertion peut ensuite être retirée afin de laisser la canule et le capteur dans la position d'insertion choisie, le segment distal du capteur étant exposé au fluide extracellulaire du patient via des ouvertures formées dans la canule.
