A flexible light pipe consisting of a light-transmitting core, a cladding, and asheathing is described which, by suitable choice of cladding and sheathing materials, exhibits a combination of good flexibility for bending and shaping whilst retaining good resistance to kinking or other interruptions which can adversely affect transmission of light.
