A catheter is provided for the injection of therapeutic agents at a target site within a patient's body. The catheter includes a first elongated shaft having a distal end and a proximal end and a lumen extending therebetween. The catheter also includes a second elongated shaft in the form of a needle slidingly disposed in the first elongated shaft, the needle having a distal end and a proximal and a lumen extending therebetween. The catheter may include a flexible sleeve, wherein the flexible sleeve compresses along the inside of a curve and elongates along the outside of a curve. The catheter may additionally or alternatively include an adjustable distal tissue contact surface, wherein the position of the distal tissue contact surface may be adjusted with respect to a stop surface for stopping the advancement of a needle. The catheter may additionally or alternatively include a fluid pressure contact monitor.
L'invention concerne un cathéter pour l'injection d'agents thérapeutiques dans un site cible du corps d'un patient. Le cathéter consiste en un premier arbre allongé ayant une extrémité distale et une extrémité proximale et une lumière les séparant. Le cathéter comprend aussi un second arbre allongé sous forme d'une aiguille disposé de façon coulissante dans le premier arbre allongé, ladite aiguille possède une extrémité distale et une extrémité proximale et une lumière les séparant. Le cathéter peut inclure un manchon flexible qui se comprime le long de l'intérieur d'une courbe et s'allonge le long de l'extérieur d'une courbe. Le cathéter peut en outre ou de façon alternative inclure une surface distale de contact de tissu réglable, la position de ladite surface distale de contact de tissu peut être ajustée par rapport à une surface d'arrêt afin d'arrêter l'avancement d'une aiguille. Le cathéter peut en outre ou alternativement inclure un control de contact de pression fluide.
