ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flexible resin and fiber composite street sign blank adapted for attachment to a rigid bracket and signpost. The sign blank com- prises a planer web section (39) whose material composition and fiber arrangement (30, 33) provide a tensile strength of at least 172,375 kilopascals and preserve flexibility to enable the sign blank to withstand impacts and other destructive influence. The web section is bounded along one or both of its long sides with an elongate rail section (38) which has at least twice the thick- ness of the web thickness. The rail section has a material composition and fiber arrangement (a'", b', a", b", a') which provide a minimum tensile strength of at least 275,800 kilopascals and develop an improved compliance match for attach- ment at the rigid bracket and signpost.
