The invention relates to a flexible, two-dimensional screening material, especially for protecting human skin or cutaneous tissues against undesirable radiation. Said screening material is configured as an optical filter, and has diffracting and/or reflecting edges running parallel to each other. The reciprocal distance (A) between said diffracting and/or reflecting edges is equal to a multiple of the wavelength of the rays against which the skin is being protected.
