A package (10, 40) especially suited for shipping and storing unwrapped sheets of paper comprises a box (11) having a lid (12) that may be removed and one side (20, 20') which may be pivoted down when the lid (12) is removed to facilitate access to the contents of the box (11) for ease of unloading of paper from the box (11) and ease of reloading. A preferred construction employs a moisture barrier (38) to maintain the moisture content of the paper in the box (11) within acceptable limits when the package (10, 40) is subjected to adverse environmental conditions. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the package (10, 40) is recyclable.
