ABSTRACT The float is constructed as a hollow elongated cylindrical member with hook shaped elements at the ends to define an aperture for slidably receiving a fishing line. The hook shaped receiving elements permit the float to be readily attached to a fishing line or removed from a fishing line when desired. The float permits a line to slide through when measuring the depth of a body of water while being clamped when the line is retrieved to mark the depth of the body of water.
