ABSTRACT A float (10) is provided with at least one hoisting drum (5, 6) for a hoisting wire (2, 3) from hoist means (1). On the float there is provided at least one suspension drum (7, 8, 9) for a suspension wire (14, 15, 16) to a submersible body (11, 12, 13), for example in the form of an air gun for seismic prospection. The hoisting drum (5, 6) and the suspen- sion drum (7, 8, 9) are rotationally coupled to each other and the wires (2, 3 and 14, 15, 16, resp.) are arranged in such a way on the drums that the suspension wires are reeled in when the hoisting wires are reeled off from the hoisting drums, and vice versa. The primary field of application for such an arrangement is for floats adapted to carry a number of air guns during towing for marine seismic prospection.
