ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A floating and trolling bait bucket for holding live bait. The floating and trolling bait bucket includes a container, door, hinge, and spring. The hinge rotatably interconnects the door to the container. The spring is positioned over the hinge so that the spring resists rotation of the door away from substantially closed or open positions. In addition, a process is described for blow molding a floating and trolling bait bucket having both a container and a flotation collar. An elongate tube of molten plastic called the parison is extruded between two mold halves, where each of the mold halves includes a cavity having two independent segments and an interspace therebetween. The mold halves are closed together, and air is then blown into the hollow of the parison, forming the container and flotation collar of the floating and trolling bait bucket. Moreover, flash forms in the interspace to bind the container and flotation collar together.
