ABSTRACT Floating internal sizing ring for use on a stuffing horn to expand a flexible, tube-like casing in preparation for stuffing operation, includes a hollow tube adapted for slidingly mounting on and remaining freely slidable along the outer surface of the stuffing horn throughout the stuffing operation; a generally toroidal member with a convex casing- expanding surface for expanding the casing into an open configuration; and a fixed integral connection between the hollow tube and the toroidal member. The floating internal sizing ring can be manufactured as a single-piece member; and the generally toroidal member can further include a substantially planar surface extending tangentially from its forward edge.
