A flood protection barrier for a structure (2) is disclosed. The barrier (22) is adapted to overlie at least a portion of the outer skin of the structure (27) in the region where the structure engages with the ground (12). The barrier (22) comprises at least one impermeable sheet (58) and at least one seal means (26, 28), in which each impermeable sheet (58) is flexible, and at least one seal means (26, 28) is a means adapted to reversibly form a substantially watertight seal between an impermeable sheet (58) and at least one of the structure (2), the ground (12), or an impermeable sheet (58). The impermeable sheet (58) is sufficiently flexible to be elastically deformed by the hydrostatic pressure exerted by water (14) flooding the ground (12) adjacent to the structure to substantially conform with the contours of the structure's skin overlain by the impermeable barrier (22).
L'invention concerne une barrière de protection contre les inondations destinée à une structure (2). Ladite barrière (22) est conçue de façon à recouvrir au moins une partie de l'enveloppe extérieure de ladite structure (27) au niveau de la région où cette structure est en contact avec le sol (12). Cette barrière (22) comprend au moins une feuille imperméable (58), au moins des moyens d'étanchéité (26, 28) dans lesquels chaque feuille imperméable (58) reste souple, et au moins un élément d'étanchéité (26, 28) conçu pour former de manière réversible un joint sensiblement étanche entre une feuille imperméable (58) et au moins la structure (2), le sol (12), ou une feuille imperméable (58). Ladite feuille imperméable (58) est suffisamment souple pour être déformée élastiquement par la pression hydrostatique exercée par l'eau (14) inondant le sol (12) adjacent à la structure, de façon à épouser sensiblement les contours de l'enveloppe de la structure recouverte par la barrière imperméable (22).
