ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A floor structure is fabricated from joists and slabs, the slabs being positioned at the level of the lower flanges of the joists to provide between the joists and above the slabs channels for services such as wiring, plumbing and ventilation. The joists have webs of zigzag shape formed from bent metal rods with apices received in and glued to recesses in wooden up- per and lower flanges.
